The Spruce on how to grow in low tunnels. Remember that season extension practices and systems may be used to extend the spring season and the fall seasons. Basically, the growing season in Chicago is about six months from mid-April until mid-October. Season extension practices can add 30 extra days in the spring and fall, 60 days offer the opportunity to grow more crops for your family.
